Research Assistant I
Department of Psychology Child Language Lab

The Department of Psychology at the University of Connecticut is seeking applicants to fill a full-time, end-date position as Research Assistant I on an NIH-supported research project comparing the processes of language development in typically developing children and children with autism under the supervision of Dr. Letitia Naigles. Responsibilities include data collection (off-site at children’s homes), entry, and analysis; subject recruitment and scheduling; maintenance of subject files and correspondence; and coordination of lab activities.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in speech pathology, psychology, linguistics, or a related discipline with experience in the conduct of health or natural/social science research, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: one or more years of experience working with children and their families; experience with children on the autistic spectrum; research experience involving children, computer skills in statistical software; and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
