Congratulations! Part II

Another award for a linguistics student!  Joshua Herrera, an individualized major in Linguistics and Slavic Studies, was just presented with one of three Outstanding Capstone Paper Prizes by the Individualized Major Program.  Joshua’s thesis, inspired by Jonathan Bobaljik’s work on the endangered language Itelmen, is entitled, “Language Shift in the Kamchatka Peninsula: An historical examination into the regional Slavic influences and modern progressions in the case of Itelmen.”  Joshua’s advisors in the Linguistics Department are Jon Gajewski (primary) and William Snyder.  Congratulations, Joshua!
